    Orel Hershiser rules

I love this guy paired with Jon Miller. He knows the game, and he doesn't piss me off like Morgan can. What do you guys think?

he's much better then Morgan that's for sure. He's a smart guy and knows the game. I think he'd be an excellent manager actually.

We were talking about this is the Red Sox forum...

      May I just say...

Orel Hershiser is 25 X better than Joe Morgan. Already, through a half inning, he has provided more insight than Joe has all year and failed to contradict himself. Please, please, please ESPN...Orel equals ratings!!

I've been enjoying him all season, a great addition to ESPN. I wish I could say the same of Tino...

I actually like them both... I respect Joe more for being a former player, and although he isn't the best speaker out there, he knows his stuff.

Orel is kinda boring at times, being kinda monotone, but that's heavily overshadowed by how much he really knows. He's a good guy to listen to.

it's sad how some people don't know bout DA BULLDOG!

Oh well it's a product of his age.

Orel was a great pitcher and a gutsy guy on the mound. He really did well with guts and guile late in his career. You should try to find tape of Hershiser in the 1999 playoffs pitching his heart out for the Mets at the age of 40!

Uhh, hello? Hershizer was in the league much more recently than Morgan.

Maybe people don't realize it because Orel doesn't go into on-air tangents about the "good old days" in the bigs.

I have never figured out why so many of you guys hate Joe Morgan's color commentary. I think he's one of the best.

My personal favorite is Harold Reynolds... I hope he gets his job back... I don't believe a word of any of the allegations. I give hugs to people all the time... in this day 'n age though, you can tap a girl on the shoulder... and she will claim that you were touching her boobs.

Some classic lines from his thread by just replacing Orel with Oral.

But anyways, I really do like his insights but I at times start to get a bit bored with him.

Still better than Morgan though. How many more times do I have to hear about the right way to play? Or intangibles?

Sometimes I feel like Im taking Crazy pills.

Tino hasn't been good, but he's barely ever on. I put my Tino homerism aside for one hour every night to realize that he's a much better player than broadcaster. Did Orel Hersiser get fired by the Rangers or did he just leave? Anyway, Peter Gammons is still the best of them all.

I think Orel just left Texas. 95 % sure on that.

People also forget to mention He has a nearly Impossible record to catch in this day & age...59 1/3 Scorless innings...Thats about 6 1/3 Games..Even one unearned run or one meaningless HR and your done....In this day of specialized pitching, Don't see anyone even coming close to that
