Mets pitcher Duaner Sanchez out for the season

    Taxi accident!

What is it with Mets pitchers and bad cab drivers?

I'm not a fan of Miami taxi cabs anymore

It has been said that he could be back for the postseason.

But I wouldn't bank on it.

Yeah same here- I wouldn't risk throwing a pitcher with no work right into the postseason. I hope Omar can pick up somebody within the next half hour

        He just did.

X-man to Pirates for Roberto Hernandez and Oliver Perez.

Yeah, I just read about that.

It's a beautiful deal- Oliver still has ACE potential in my opinion. Roberto was VERY solid for us last year.

Omar just continues to amaze me. I guess Lastings will return to Shea now?

He's got the stuff to be an ace- you don't put up a season like he did by accident. He's only 25 so there's still a chance for a turnaround.

I trust Rick Peterson whom I was sure was consulted on the move

Anyway, Mets may ship Heath Bell + Perez to San Diego for Linebrink

Sucks about Duaner. The Mets bullpen is now dependent on Roberto Hernandez!

Perez and Bell to Padres for Linebrink is a done deal

This does sux bad, but what the hell are you going to do, we can't dwell on it, only move on. Roberto did great for us last year, and he was plaiyng well the the Pirates this year too, It will all rest on Hielman now as our setup man, I really didn't like the fact that they traded Nady, I thought that was dumb. Oh well, I hoping somthing is still brewing for the Mets, but I doubt it.

Linebrink can easily replace Duaner- in fact, if he pitches like he did in 04 and 05, he'll actually be an improvement (his WHIP hovered around 1.00 both seasons). We might actually be better now.

Next year, with both in the pen, it will be downright filthy.

cant complain about the deal... I know it hurts not getting the big name pitcher, but considering Omar heard about Sanchez this morning, he managed to fill the hole by getting not only Hernandez, but Linebrink as well.. Mets need the bullpen help now, & hopefully Maine & Hernandez still pitch the way they have... I would like to see a split of Chavez & Milledge in RF now...

Any reason why it didn't make it? The Padres backed out or they didn't get it under the deadline? They really could have used him and it appeared the Padres wanted the left handed pitcher. I can't see why Minaya would deal for him from Pittsburg unless he was going to move him in another deal.
