Javy Lopez asks for his release from the Os.

This sucks, Javy is a class act character, and Baltimore did nothing to welcome his stay. I hope that Javy is able to sign on with another team and make an impact. I also hope that Baltimore gets whats coming to them for this. KARMAs a biatch!

What a pansy. He does know that if he's released, he doesn't get payed this year right?

Oh well, if he's released, I don't care. He hasn't helped us that much this year, other than the game winner against the White Sox a few days ago. Good riddance.

He's played, he just hasn't caught as much as he wants to. He's been DH'ing and then catching when Rodrigo pitches or Ramon gets the day off. He's just whining because he isn't catching full time and he thinks it's lowering his value, when it's his decline and not his lack of catching that is lowering it.

Actually, he would get paid which is why the Orioles won't release him. All contracts in baseball are guaranteed. The only way for them to get off the hook financially is to waive him and hope somebody claims him.

Might as well send him to the Red Sox.

No point if Tek isn't going to be out for the season.

LOL....so because Javy wants to play for a winner and Baltimore doesn't trade him, it's completely their fault? It's not like he was sitting on the bench and not playing anyway....he's gotten plenty of at-bats this year and hasn't produced at all. But Baltimore didn't welcome his stay because you THINK he's a class act character? You know him personally right?

Personally I think he should've been traded....we could've actually gotten something for him but our horrible management decided to keep him for 2 months.

I don't get why older players don't welcome the change to full time DH as readily as you would think they would. I mean at some point your skills on the field get eroded to the point that you're around mostly for your bat.

As for not playing for a winner, well he knew that when he signed on to that toiletbowl of a franchise.

Yankees and Red Sox will be all over him if he passes through waivers.

If you think about it, it can get pretty boring. For about 3-4 hours a day, all you do is go up and bat 3-4 times. Thats an at-bat per hour. Thats it. So basically all you would do is sit on the bench and watch the game. To me, I would rather play 1B or some utility position than do that. That would kill my love for the game, becuase you'll miss being out on the field. Maybe its just me, but I would hate to be a DH.

Colorado had interest in Lopez a few weeks ago so that could come up agian. I could also see the Angels trying to get him even though his role would probably be the same at least he would be playing for a contender.
