I won't even begin to chide you for that statement. A strike would have changed nothing.

I [censored] hate seeing or hearing or reading about people who despite the Yanks. Quit your f*cking b1tch *** whining allready. You people probably have [censored] nothing in your life better than to pay attention to the Yankees and their transactions. And FYI the strike would have [censored] ruined the game. There wouldn't be much support for our nation's past time sport. Not many fans would stand another strike. You ppl got your damn *** rules so [censored] quit your b1tching. I'm sure your dumb *** teams and their owners have more than enough money up their *** to support their team but they choose not to, cuz the *** **** fans ain't showing appreciation. It ain't George Steinbrenner's fault that he loves his team and winning and making the people of NY happy. KeRplunk wtf is your fave team? and ViperVisor you too, all though frankly i don't give a f*ck. You got your payroll rules and your taxing [censored] so be happy cuz the game is changing for the benefit of it, so people like you ViperVisor and KeRplunk would shut the f*ck up. Glad I got that out of my system. More of this sh1t and you'll definetely find out my true love for the Yankees.

******* you wanted a strike last year, that explains just how aware you were of the situation last year.

I wanted the owners to put a tougher cap in place or even a NFL type cap.

Because this isn't stoping the Yankees from spending more than ever.

It will take some years before the game is really top notch and similiar to NFL. For now, the new rules and changes will have to do. Trust me, even then you would have complained about the Yanks.

I'm just droppin in on this topic to say I'm not gonna really get involved....you guys know my sentiments about this whole situation, and if not then go read the thread about Contreras.

To Viper's original question, at least 5 teams have over a 100 mill payroll.

First of all, let me say I do not hate the Yankees. They are just playing by the rules - flawed rules but they are playing by them. With that being said, I love it when Yankees fans, or any other fans for that matter, put their team ahead of the game of baseball. I'm a baseball fan first...then I'm a Phillies fan. The system is still flawed and many still feel a strike was and still is the only way to totally purge baseball of its problems. Are the "new rules" just duct tape for a larger problem? Its too early to tell. Am I glad they settled it last year and finished the season - yes. But deep down I know there is much more to be done. Quite simply there needs to be a cap. Its gotta be pretty easy to be the GM of the Yanks. Does that mean Cashman isn't a talented GM - no. We won't know the answer to that question until he is forced to deal with the problems the average GM has to face. If the playing field is not level then you've got problems. If its a level playing field and someone wants to sign with the Yankees because of the situation there or their tradition - fine. More power to them. Its very annoying when people won't admit that the system is flawed because its working in their team's favor. I hope the players and owners can get things done over the next 5 years or so to "right the ship." Trust me, I went through the last strike and saw first hand how cut throat things can get - on both sides. I just hope baseball comes out on top in the end.
