Ozzie Gullien responds to allegation of stealing signs

If we are 'cheating' then this is the worst group of cheaters I've seen. The quotes about Ozzie talking about why aren't we cheating for Brain Anderson and Juan Uribe are valid points. Why aren't these guys hitting if they're stealing signs? Also, how come we can't steal signs against Johan Santana? This guy has owned the White Sox the past 2 years but they can't seem to figure him out.

We also have to question the people who are accusing the White Sox of cheating. Cardinals pitching coach Dave Duncan was one of the accusers. After thumping the Cardinals he came out with the crocodile tears on how we're cheating. Then you have another accuser in Red Sox owner John Henry. You figured he'd give us a little credit after sweeping his team in the playoffs last year and possibily ending their season this year by beating them out of the wild card.

Why when I read what Ozzie said does this image stick in my head?

PS - I thought the term "haterade" was outdated? I guess I'm not in touch with the current slang.

Well what about the guys who accuse the White Sox of sign stealing?

It's pretty funny how you continue to defend Guillen, as if he's a figurehead leader/role model to you. "The brotha speaks the truth. Preach on my man Ozz!".
To us in the real world, however, Guillen is loony toons and clearly a kook. The real comedy is reading your rationalization threads announcing Guillen's latest explosion and pre-emptively trying to justify his words.

"Guys, if you take one line that he said, he really is speaking the truth! He's not crazy! Honest.. please guys, my hero isn't nuts, I swear!!"

You know Guillen is nuts, you just can't admit it. Come to the darkside, admit he's nuts, and everything will be alright.

You know...I was going to say something in regards to your comments but I'm just going to keep it to myself because I want to continue this thread with a good and healthy conversation.

Anyway, I just said what he said in regards to Anderson and Urbie are valid points. Whether they are facts or not is not the issue. I just agreed with him. That's all. Never did I say that it was truth. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST!

As far as him being nuts, I totally agree with you. I have always considered him 'off his rocker' BUT he speaks what's on his mind. Never have a defended his sanity. I've sometimes defended his views and have disagreed with him on some opinions. For instances, a couple of weeks ago he starting making excuses for his pitching staff's performance in saying that they're old and they're starting to wear themselves down and there is no way to avoid it. When I heard this from Ozzie I came out and said that it was a bunch of crap. With the exception of Contreras, everybody on our staff is younger than 35 years old. With the excpetion of Contreras and Garcia everybody else on our staff is younger than 30 years old. This did not sound like the old Ozzie and it frustrated me that he would make excuses for a pitching staff that was suppose to be championship caliber. He didn't make these type of excuses for Brain Anderson when he was batting below the 'Mendoza Line'. He didn't say this for Juan Uribe. Nor did he give Bobby Jenks a break when he had a terrible spring training.

So Ozzie does not speak the Gospel to me nor is he my hero. He manages my favorite team and the one requirement that I want from him is that he knows baseball. From my understanding he fulfills that requirement just fine.

They're crying too (only difference is Ozzie can't seem to go 1 month without seeing his name in the paper). Sign stealing is part of the game and always has been. It's nothing a 95+ MPH fastball to the helmet can't fix.

IMO this is much ado about nothing.
