Did you hear the huge news? The Twins made a free agent signing!!!

Well, it was some guy who's going to play in the minor leagues, but still, it's the Twins making this signing! I'm so giddy!

I think this pushed our payroll from the $25 million mark to the $25.1 million mark. Somebody better let all the other GMs know they should start planning for their hefty revenue sharing check from the Twins.

In all seriousness, I found it funny when I saw on the bottom line the other day "The Twins sign..." and I got all excited and then it turned out to be some minor league player. Should have known better I guess.

That organization is a sorry sorry organization. They get so close each year but never sign everyone. I'm pretty ignorant towards the Twins situation, but I doubt that they will be able to retain the talent that they have and its a shame for the fans. Then again, aren't the people in minnesota against public funding for a new stadium?

Actually, being a Twins fan right now ain't all bad. I get to watch a team that came up through the minors together, dreamed about making it big together, and then did. I'd say the Twins are easily the closest team in the league.

Plus there's always great seats available for home games.

The organization is run very well, which is shown by the success being had as of late. The problem lies in circumstance and baseball in general. But that's another subject.

The stadium issue is a tricky one. It's been very close at times, but has always gotten snagged by something. The fans haven't really been a problem yet.

Yeah, they have a great franchise.. I'd say second in the major's next to the A's. The Phillies are starting to put together a good team, much of the team is homegrown talent and have been together a few years. Hopefully they will gel this year like the Twins did last year.

As far as the stadium is going, isn't it the voters who keep on shutting it down. All the old people don't want their money going to build a new stadium?

Not really. The last strong push made for the stadium was continually delayed by Pohlad and crew because he was really intent on trying to get the franchise out of here. When they were able to get past Pohlad and bring it to the legislature, it was near the end of that legislative session, and the legislature thought (rightfully so) that there were more pressing matters to be dealt with before any stadium talks. There hasn't been really any talk since then.
