    fatpitcher...

Curious about WSB, are they going to up the speed of incoming pitches at all? My only complaint about WSB last year was that it seemed that pitches came in a little too slow, not saying I want it to be like ASB. Just curious, thanks.

pretty sure pitch speed is one of the AI sliders, not positive though.

IMO, the pitch speeds last year were fine. You better be careful what you ask for because it may end up like ASB (Warp Speed Pitching)

Yea, ASB took me back to H.S. playin baseball again. You'll try to swing at a pitch and be two seconds late.

I know they had it in last years game a slider you could adjust to make your pitches to the computer faster, but when I was batting, if a pitcher threw a curve it sometimes felt like a knuckle ball I mean sometimes it was so slow I could get a hit with even average hitters. I don't want it to be like ASB, in a perfect world I'd like to be in between both.

Nope...and that's why it will never ever find its way inside my xbox...that and the graphics.

Some people say that provides realism, but uhh...I've played baseball, and I've never had to swing at the ball before it leaves the pitchers hand just to maybe have a chance of hitting it. How can you? You won't know the location, you won't be able to "read" the pitch at all.

A kid last semester lived across the hall and he played it constantly. He was able to hit and what not, but he swung at like every pitch. Far from realism.

Before BG or anyone starts with me, I'm not saying the game is terrible or don't get it or whatever, I'm just saying, that ruined the game for ME, obviously there are plenty of people that love the game.

                  A. How do you guys know what they are or aren't changing for the new version? I'd wait until the game comes out before telling everyone what has changed and what has remained the same.... you might be in for a surprise or two. Did you get a preview copy of the game you haven't told us about? One hands-on 3 months before the game is released is basically meaningless because, well, it came from IGN, and it also is 3 months before release.

                  B. I find it amazing that you have to press the swing button on your version before the pitcher throws the ball while I manage to get between 5-15 hits per game. I guess I purchased the easy version without knowing it. I'm all for exaggerating to make a point, but you are taking it to a whole new level of craziness. I get your point already... you can't hit in ASB... it's ok, it doesn't make you a bad person because you're bad at video game baseball. Practice makes perfect, and if you played the game once or twice, there's no way you will develop the timing needed to hit consistently.

                  C. Sorry you had a bad time with the game, maybe you should stick to something easier this next year. Either way, ASB will continue to rock and I'll always be here to let you know it.

And it is indeed a pleasure to know I can always count on that!!
By the way BG, do you know of any post season PS2 rosters for ASB? Got me a sharkport, and I'm jonesin for some early season baseball. Got college rosters for BB2k3. the PS2 may see more games know. Too bad they can't come up with a device for the Xbox.

I couldnt hit in ASB that well, it gets frustrating; yet when I first played WSB I had the same stats and it was amazingly fun. BTW I am awesome at baseball games, its just that ASB needs to tone down the speed a bit and get a new batting thingy.

ASB's high pitch speed by itself was not the problem.

The pitch speed combined with a cursor that was not immediately responsive to the first input of movement... now that was a problem.

If Acclaim makes the cursor "non-laggy", the problem of pitch speed is greatly diminished.

Thats right snow it wasn't the pitch speed that was the problem it was the cursor u couldn't move it in time if they fix that and some other little issues the game should be very good

I hope they don't change a thing about the ASB hitting interface. I was stoked whenever I'd get someone on my team with .300+ BA. Every other baseball game I've had guys batting around .500 consistently.
