Re: Anibal Sanchez no-hitter through 8...
Yes Anibal is from the Redsox. What a year for Boston Red Sox. You have Garciaparra bouncing back with a nice year, same with Renteria. THen you have Hanley Ramirez come in and be a valuable lead off hitter for the Marlins, something the Sox could've used. Finally ANibal Sanchez, even before the no-hitter he was having a decen year.
The Marlins are one weird franchise. Expansion team just a little over ten years ago; they've won two World Series, dismantled both championship teams promptly after winning, yet they continue to stay competitive and already have a fourth no-hitter in franchise history. If only their owner cared, it's scary to think how good they could have been over the years...
Congrats to Sanchez though. Always cool to see a youngster do something like this. Hopefully, he's just another of what seems to be a very good class of rookie pitchers. With the lack of pitching over the last few years, it's nice to see some youngsters come out and impress.Co-Commish of the OS Vets I & II

I wouldn't care if he did have 6BB, a no-hitter is a no-hitter.Comment

Unreal man. I was stunned when I first heard this while driving in the car tonight. How can this not sting for Red Sox fans after we watched him progress through the minors for so long?
I wanted to see him and Hanley do well, but not now that Beckett has been a bust.Comment

Congrats to Sanchez on the no-hitter.
Intersting trivial note for this one: the 2 times the Diamondbacks have been no-hit in a game both came against rookies. Sanchez tonight and Jose Jimenez of the Cardinals back on 6/25/99.Comment

Congrats to Sanchez although I will say it was weird the way I found out. I'm a Diamondback fan and I watched the first four innings and then drove my friend to work. I get back the TV is on but I'm on the computer. Then I go in my room and see him have this emotional outburst after the eighth. I was like he must have been in a real jam or something WTH was up with that. Then I leave again, when I hear he threw a no-hitter bla-bla I was like huh are they showing a clip of another game? I get in the room and he is on their shoulders. I was like so that eaxplains that outburst more. Kind of odd as usually I watch D-Back games pretty much all the way through. I missed this though.Comment
