Frank Thomas breaks all-time Oakland A's consecutive HR streak

The reigning AL player of the week just hit a homer to make it 1-0 in the 4th on the road against the Twins, making it his 6th straight game with a HR, breaking the all-time consecutive HR record for the A's.

What a season this guy's having: batting .282, 36 HR's, 98 RBI's this season... He definitely deserves the comeback player of the year award.

I'm still going with Jim Thome as comeback player of the year.
      .292 batting average
      39 Home Runs
      97 RBI's

Frank is having an excellent season BUT people forget that Thome carried this offense first two months of the season.

Frank is the greatest White Sox to ever play BUT my money is still on our guy Thome.

I think Thome will get the award, but Frank is definitely deserving.

Yeah, congrats to frank on a great season. Definetly glad he was able to come back BIG and stick it to Williams.

Frank has proven alot people including myself wrong. He is on a tear. The comeback POTY award should be interesting. Thome was on fire early, but has done nothing as of late when they really need him to. The Sox need him to step up if they want to make the playoffs.

I thought Thomas was done 2 years ago, then he has a year like this.
Thome- I never thought he was finished.
This season came out of nowhere for Thomas

If he had stayed healthy througout the latter part of his career, he could've reached 600 home runs.

Just hit a three run bomb to put the A's up 3-2 over the sox in the 4th. His homers have not just been plentiful, but meaningful.

I think he still could. After todays game Thomas is sitting on 485 HR's and has said he would like to play 4 more years. If he can stay healthy and productive in that time then he still has a chance at 600.

Unlike Ryan Howard and David Ortiz's.

He has said that he is happy with his position in Oakland and would like to come back. His agent and Billy are talking now about a new contract.
