    Liriano = Kerry Wood?

    Let's hope not, because the kid is fun to watch, and has a TON of talent. But he's always had injury problems. I have to imagine he will be deactivated for the remainder of the season as a precaution.

      People have said before, he might have to move to the closer's role.

        I didn't think he was ready to start. I have a feeling the kid reported no pain after his rehab starts and was trying to make valiant return to the rotation. This blows and I still favor the White Sox and Tigers to make the playoffs over us.

          See, this is what I don't understand, why risk bringing him back. Shut him down for the year. Now it could have gotten worse. THis is terrible.

              More like a Mark Fidrych. He's gonna be remembered for this great rookie season then his arm/elbow whatever will just give out and he'll be out of the bigs in 5 years.

              The Twins rushed him into the starter's role and put too much pressure on the kid.

                The human part of me feels really bad that this kid tried to come back and couldnt.

                But the Yankee fan in me is jumping for joy that we might not have to see him in the playoffs.

                  I wanted to see him in the playoffs even when the Red Sox appeared playoff bound. I want to see the game's best play in October.

                      SPTO we didn't rush the kid along in the minors at all. He wasn't even a starter when the season started and I don't believe the Twins would have started him had Baker or Silva not struggled early and often. He basically received the same treatment that Johan Santana received. Also the Twins are notorious for bring young players along slowly. I think this just may have been bad luck.

                        Sucks that he's out for the year. Hopefully he'll be back 100% in 2007

                            It's horrible to see something like that happen to such a gem of a player. I really hope he returns in full form, but let's be honest, that's probably unlikely.

                            It was a great game today, though, a real pitchers duel.

                              Santana-Liriano-Garza looked like it was going to be a ridiculously sick 1-2-3 for the next 5+ years. Hopefully Liriano can come back next year and be part of that.
