Mets/Glavine talk on possible 2yr/25mil deal?
I heard he was interested in returning to ATL but if this report is true about the possible money amount, he can stay in NY.

That's a great price for a pitcher of his value in this market."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer -

I think he helped himself greatly with his performance in the post-season, because the way he pitched for the 2nd half of the year, he wasn't worth 4mil a year. I still don't want him at 12mil, i'd rather throw more money at Zito if anything.Comment

This originated from the Daily News, the same paper behind the Torre firing report, so we'll see.
If this is true, though, and the Mets are really offering that, then they can have him.
EDIT: Glavine's agent denies reportLast edited by bravosfan; 11-01-2006, 09:26 PM.Comment
