This is the move that will have these teams playing each other in October.

Aardesma is already on his 3rd team... and he's only been playing like what, 4 or 5 years? poor guy can't find a home.

Cotts was money in 05. If he can resort back to form, they will have 2 good lefty relievers in Cotts and Eyre.

I don't mind themmoving Cotts, but at this point I think they could have gotten more than Aardesma. However Aardesma does have good stuff from what I saw from his last year and hopefully he'll be a valuable piece of the Sox pen this year.

Aardsma has a great fastball, but he can't consistently control it. Plus, his off-speed pitches are very average at this point in his career. There was talk that he might have been the closer of the future on the North-Side, but it appears Kerry Wood could be that guy now.

Good deal for the Cubs, IMO. Thornton would have been sweet, but Kenny Williams isn't that dumb.

I think this is a good trade for both teams. Especially the Sox. This gives Thornton more innings out of the pen, and if Don Cooper can help Aardsma with his control, like he has done with many of our pitchers, it will give us that right-handed setup man we desperately needed last season.

That is pretty much it. Sox wouldn't trade for him if they didn't see something in his mechanics that they can fix.

Sox are starting to get a bunch of flamethrowers in the pen. Nice, considering the starters don't throw heat, outside of Jose once in a while.
