Certainly possible that they tampered with Drew but good luck proving it. The only people who know for sure are Theo and Boras and I guarantee neither of them are admitting it.

It does sound pretty suspicious, but like camulos said, there isn't any way to really prove it.

It's possible but Boras isn't an idiot. He knows what the market is and could have convinced Drew by himself.

This has been rumored ever since JD opted out and was linked to Boston. Tough to prove though.

It could never be proven. The only people who would know are the Red Sox, Boras, and Drew. Unless Boras and Drew all of a sdden stopped enjoying money, I'd assume they would keep their mouths shut if it was true.

The only way they could prove this would be recorded phone conversations with Boras and the Red Sox.

Yea, because we all know articles about the RedSox in the NEW YORK TIMES are the most credible and unbiased in the sports world...

Doesn't anyone else find it a bit suspicious that they started complaining about tampering ONLY after the Manny trade fell through... Smells like sour grapes to me...

Dude, I like calling the Red Sox for who they are - POS!
Wouldn't like to miss an opportunity to rag on them.

The New York Times isn't the Herald, Globe, or NY Post/Daily News.

Look at the writer... He ALWAYS dogs the Sox FO. Murray Chass is a POS writer.

It's true. While there may be some more behind this tampering charge, I think it is unlikely. This article by Chass is nebulous, at best, and he offers no sources whatsoever. He simply uses anonymous un-named people, who may or may not be conjecturing. Given the track record of this writer, I wouldn't put too much stock in these charges.
