The Sox and Yanks (more so the Sox) have vulnerabilities in '07. However, if I were to be realistic you're probably right.

If the Red Sox end up trading Manny, and considering his contract it won't be for much, then the Sox will struggle to stay above .500. He may be a pain in the *** but he is an integral part of that offense and his protection of Ortiz is crucial. Without him Ortiz' production wil drop 30% as he will not see anything resembling the strike zone.

In addition J.D. Drew seems to be getting as warmly received in Boston as ARod is in NY and he may be setting himself up for a nightmare season as he's got a quarter of the talent as ARod and alot more fragile. Papelbon is unproven as a starter at the Major League level and Schilling is another year older so they have as many questions as the Jays and I doubt either make the post season.

I dont think it was drugs, rather a bout with depression, though I may be wrong.

          What is J.P. talking about?

The AL Central is one of the most competitive divisions in baseball. There is still, and hasn't been in years, a clear cut leader.

Meche is going to have "fun" against the Tigers, Twins, Indians, and White Sox.

How fun is it going to be to play the Devil Rays and Orioles? And the times he'll play the Yankees and Red Sox he'll probably get his butt handed to him. I don't know many pitchers that want to go through that

edit: And keep in mind Blue Jay fans, I'm not saying you guys will have your butts handed to you by the Red Sox and Yankees. But, you can't argue that the possibility of seeing 8-5, 7-6 games are very likely when the three teams face off. Starting pitchers don't usually like being in those situations.

Let's not forget Octavio Dotel blew off Boston for KC, so they are on the upcoming teams.

Why would you group the Orioles with the Devil Rays? Come on, you have to be smarter than that. We've had one of the best off-seasons of anybody this year and are improved from last year, yet you group us with the Devil Rays. Unbelieveable.

If you consider the Orioles as competitive as the Blue Jays, Yankees, Red Sox, Twins, White Sox, Tigers, and Indians then I'm happy for you.

The Orioles need fans like you. And I'm being serious. I hope the O's prove me wrong, but I don't see them doing much better than the Rays. Unfortunately, for them they play in the AL East.

Well when you pay for middle relievers with $20 million deals, I guess you have to think that the Orioles are trying to compete. HA those deals might be more ludacris than the Matthews deal. I mean look how much money they spent on a guy that had a horrible year, a situational lefty, and a decent middle reliever.

Chad Bradford and Jamie Walker are good relievers. They'll get the job done.

Williamson is a bust waiting to happen all over again. Thankfully, he's only a one-year deal.

I still cringe at giving Bradford three years, but it's not too bad considering his ability to perform.

I'll agree that the O's made improvements. They surely needed the bullpen help, especially after trading away Chris Britton.

Now, they need to worry about starting pitching.
