Bags will always be one of my top five favorite players of all-time. Sucks greatly to see his career end the way it did.

He is in my book, without a doubt.

But given the era he played, he might have a little difficulty... I think he'll get in, though.

I don't quite think he is a HOF level player personally, especially considering some players who aren't in who'd I rank over Bagwell. But the fact he is perhaps the greatest player in Astros history will get him in.

Man I remember the Killer Bees of Bagwell, Biggio and for a short time Bell. It's a shame that Bags never got a WS in his career.

I personally think the guy was one of the more dependable guys in the Big Leagues. He's on the borderline but seeing how the 'roids debate is going to hang over a lot of players heads in the next decade or so i'll say he may get in.

Bagwell and Biggio were the Houston Astros in the 1990's and early 2000's Bagwell did a lot for the Astros at the plate but also off the field. Bagwell and Biggio defered a lot of money over the years to help the Astros be able to sign players and stay competitive. Bagwell's offensive numbers will get him in the Hall of Fame, whether or not his numbers were inflated by steroids or anything else, his name has never been officially linked to anything of the sort.

The Bagwell trade will always be remembered in Boston as the second greatest mistake in Red Sox history and one of the greatest steals in Baseball history.

I don't know if he took roids, but it is suspicious that he is injured all the time.

Fellas, really lets not take it their. If he has not been found to have taken them leave him alone. Anyway I would not put him in the Hall. The question I ask myself is would I put Fred McGriff in and I say no. Bagwell while done in less years had similar numbers to Crime Dog. Also throw in Andres Galarraga who also played 1st like these others and again I say he is not a Hall guy, another guy Bagwell's numbers are similar to. Bags while was a good player will be hurt by the era he played in. That is probably why I do not look at him as a HOF because 1st baseman who could put up 40-100 were the norm it seemed. I will compromimse though, if his head is the one with his really long goatee from 2001 or so I would yeah let him in.

I don't know about that. McGriff had almost 1000 at bats more than Bags, and hit about 10-15 points lower in career average. Galarraga had 500 more at bats than Bags, and hit almost 50 fewer homers and 15 points lower average. I personnally think Bags is a HOFer. We should not let the era go against him. When you think of top 1st Basemen of the 1990's, you think of two guys: Frank Thomas and Jeff Bagwell (and Big Mac, but we won't go there right now). Both are HOFers in my book.
Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally all that matters are the final numbers! If a guy breaks the most hit records and hits 6000, but he played for 30 years he should go! I think this how long they played is crap. If you put up numbers like the former Hall of famers, you should go.

If Cepeda and Snider are in, then Baggs is pretty much a lock.

Different eras and I believe both were Veterans comittee picks. Like I said Bags is a borderline HOF'er but I think he'll get in.

BTW I hope the Astros retire his number sometime this year.

How about retiring his weird batting gloves as well?
