    Probably the holidays.

Good for him. Cards weren't going to give him that much.

I'm sure he'll end up being a 3/4 starter that he is in Milwaukee.

It was in the transactions thread.

Good signing by the Brewers. Sheets, Cupuano, Suppan, Bush and Vargas= good starting rotation.

Great signing by the Brewers. They needed to replace Davis.

I'm happy for the Brewers....they're a better team now.

Nice signing. I doubt he'll be able to live up to the high expectations he put on himself in the postseason, though.

The dollars are crazy but that's to be expected now. This is a good signing by the Brewers as Suppan will eat a lot of innings and be a dependable back end rotation guy.

Personally I agree. The Jays had interest in him but wisely opted out after seeing what kind of offers he was getting. They felt he wasn't really that big of an upgrade from Ted Lilly.

At least he made the wise choice to stay in the NL. He'll probably be what he always has been. 12 wins close to 5 ERA. He is the typical "I cashed in on one good month" pitcher.

He's been a beast at Miller Park, though. 12-2 over the last 3 years.

He only gets to pitch to the Brewers in batting practice now though

True, but Fielder , Lee and Weeks were/are no slouches.

So long, Soup. Thanks for everything, but now you will be a victim of the I-left-Dave-Duncan-after-he-ressucitated-my-career virus.

Cards will still win the division cuz we will be healthy and YOUNGER.

Too bad Jeff Weaver apparently thinks he's gonna get big money going elsewhere too. He should realize that Dave help salvage his career more than any other ... even tho we are lowballing him with whatever offer we offered him (we do that to every pitcher).

We'll be fine with Carp, Wells, Reyes, Wainright/Looper/Thompson and Weaver

                            --or--

Carp, Wells, Reyes, W/L/T, Mulder (and one of those prior three til Mulder gets back)

Yeah, Mike Maddux hasn't been very successful with turning the careers of Doug Davis, Derrick Turnbow and Chris Cuapuano around very well.

Soup will do well in Milwuakee.

I won't address the early prediction before teams are put together.
