Bert Blyleven still not in the hall

Little being made of him not being voted in, but he deserves to be in.

Yes, he does. I see him either getting in next year or the year after.

Next year could be Goose and Rice with a weak field.

Blyleven is short of the 300 victories dotted line. Plus, his win to loss ratio isn't that great as well. He only had one season with 20 victories out of 22 seasons.

No doubt he was good, though.

Blyleven is an interesting situation. I can see arguments for both sides. On one hand, he has the statistical numbers to more than qualify for the HOF. On the other hand, he played forever. Should longevity without dominance be enough for inclusion into the HOF? Or should it be reserved for those who could maintain dominance for a period of time?

Hall of Very Good, or Hall of Fame?
Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never agreed that the strength of the field should determine whether a person is a hall-of-famer or not. What I mean is that with Gwynn and Ripken, it was unlikely that others like Gossage and Rice could get in this year, but have a better chance next year. I mean, if you are a hof you should be in.

Personally I would have liked to see Garvey get in. He was the most impressive Dodger over a span of 8 years when the team reached 3 ws and led the padres to a ws.

I understand what your saying, but with Goose getting 71% this year, he should logically be voted in next year with a weaker class. He only needs 4% more votes and his voting % has increased throughout the years.
