I like how he talks about himself in the third person.

I heard Mike and Mike in the Morning making fun of Zambrano this morning on the way to work. They thought it was funny that he not only referred to himself in third person, but that he called himself the "Big Z." LOL

I love when athletes talk in third person.

              Nice....

The only bonafide good starter the Cubs has and he goes opening his yap about getting a big payday.

yeah... I'm guessing first pitch at Wrigley this year he goes down with a blown elbow. Of course that will be the day after he signs a 6 year deal for $100 million dollars knowing the Cubs luck.

God I hope not but I guess I'm used to the disappointment. I hope they do manage to sign him because he's really the only constant in that rotation. What's up with the 3rd person references? The last guy I remember who used to always do that was Rickey Henderson. It makes people sound like idiots.

Re: Zambrano:"Sign me now, or I walk after '07"

There is no doubting Zambrano is a talented pitcher and the only constant for the Cubs pitching staff the past few years. I just don't like the way he is going about this. His arrogant attitude makes me ill. He is just one of many pro athletes with this type of attitude.

Whatever happened to being thankful and grateful to being playing a game you love and getting paid for it? This is a big problem in all of pro sports these days, just worrying about a payday. If you go out and play hard you will be rewarded. No reason to be a jerk about it.

Something tells me the Cubs are not going to resign him. I don't know if they really wanted to have a couple hundred million dollars locked up in just 2 players.

Can't blame the big guy for wanting a big payday. Do the Cubs have enough funds to sign him?

If we have 21 million for Marquis, we have the money for Zambrano.

I would guess if both aren't signed, they will get their paydays with many teams..so Zambrano to SF next year. Andruw too. The GIANTS are on the rise.

If the Cubs can sign Lilly for 40 million and Maquis for 21 and end up not signing Zambrano one of the 5 best pitchers in the game I will officially be sick.

Alot of people think that Carlos is arrogant, but the guy is competitor and plays harder than any pitcher in baseball. Sometimes too hard for a pitcher and that's what matters to me. If he is arrogant so be it.

I agree completely. The cubs spent a lot of money this offseason, there better be enough to lock him up for a long time.
