Thanks....somebody already mentioned that earlier in the thread. I can't go back and edit it now so I have no way to correct it. If that's the only mistake plus listing Jose Acevedo as a lefty in the AL thread then I can live with those two mistakes.

i think that marrero/drew will hit in that 2 spot for the cardinals..
renteria is too valuable in the back of the lineup to drive guys in...
he is a clutch rbi guy.

I totally agree with this. Renteria was excellent in the 6/7 spot last year and thats where I see him being this year as well.
About the rotation, I don't think we will definitely know who the 4 and 5 starters will be till after spring training. Simontacchi is not a shoe in, although I'm hoping he picks up where he left off. Another candidate is Jimmy Journell for the rotation. He is a long shot, but so was a guy named Albert Pujols a few seasons ago.Comment

Re: Transaction Update
"If Ankiel and Eldred are going to be part of the pitching staff what two pitchers are not going to make it? That's the question I kept asking myself and I can't seem to figure out who to remove from the 12 man staff. Plus, I can't see them carrying more than 12 pitchers. "
yep cardinals pitching is going to be f***ed up in all the games this yearComment

Re: Transaction Update
The sad thing is, this is nothing new. I tried to make a roster on ASB '03 similar to the projected '03 Cardinal's roster and it is nearly impossible to decide who to knock out. It will be a very interesting Spring training to say the least for the Cardinals. I can't wait!Comment

Re: You be the manager......NL
After further consideration and looking around at some other baseball sites......I think I will agree with you guys that Renteria should probably hit 7th. I think Marrero will end taking Drew's spot due to injuries. I read something the other day that said Drew had "old man's knees" and doctor's removed dead tissue from his knees this winter. That doesn't sound like a good thing.
As far as Eldred goes..... I can't see him making an impact because he is coming off an injury and hadn't been very good for a couple of seasons before the injury. In the last 5 years he is only 16-19 and missed considerable time due to injuries.Comment

Place Nevin in left, he plans to play there from now on because in PETCO park, the dimension in lLF will be shorter and that way he won't be much of a liability when the new ball park opens.Comment
