Maybe this is old news, but I hadn't seen these numbers before....

You hear all that noise from the Bonds camp and yet most conspicuous is the silence on challenging the facts of the case. Shadows succeeded because it couched nothing and stood unchallenged. My favorite fact: the authors detail in their afterword the freakish growth of Bonds' body parts in his years with the Giants: from size 42 to a size 52 jersey; from size 10 1/2 to size 13 cleats; and from a size 7 1/8 to size 7 1/4 cap, even though he had taken to shaving his head.

"The changes in his foot and head size," they write, "were of special interest: medical experts said overuse of human growth hormone could cause an adult's extremities to begin growing, aping the symptoms of the glandular disorder acromegaly."

Such a joke, this whole thing.

I was listening about this on the Dan Patrick Show on ESPN and the Rob Dibble show on MLB Home Plate yesterday.... I think it's pretty damn obvious with those numbers.

Either he's Andre the Giant (he had that disease) or he's on HGH...end of story.

Plus, those numbers would even be amazing if they were charted over the course of his entire career from his Pittsburgh days. Those are just since he joined the Giants! That's incredible.

Its even less time than that. He was still a small guy in 1998 (he joined the Giants in 1993 I believe). In 1999-2000 he grew a bunch. By 2001 he was the Incredible Hulk.

I always thought Bonds had a big head and it just goes to show it has grown over the years.

Uh oh. I might be a juicer.

My head is just a bit under 7 and 1/8. (yes, I know I have a big head. I look like one of those Easter Island Statues)

Barry is basically untouchable and seems to not really care.

7 1/8 isn't all that big (its actually pretty small.) Thats the hat size I wear- and I like a tight fit. In the fitted hats that are S,M,L,XL I wear a small actually. Most of my friends wear around 7 1/2 to 8. Granted none of us are bald like Barry.

Its pretty crazy though that Bonds hat size grew after he shaved his head and in his late 30's. That doesn't just happen.

You know what's so funny about all of this? I wear a 7 3/8 new era cap, and I pretty much shave my head as well (about a 1/32 buzz cut). To me it doesn't even seem like his head is that freakishly large... that, or mine is.
