        After all the years of suffering we have been through as Cubs fans. I don't see how any Cubs fan could be against Mark Cuban becoming the owner of the team.

            This is going to end up being another blow to the Cubs when Selig shoots Cuban down and the team is purchased by another bunch of tightwads.

                I would love to see Cuban as the new owner, but as others have said, Selig has his favorites. Hopefully one day the truth about Selig will get out. The guy is awful for baseball and leaves the players out to dry while he fattens his buddies wallets.

                    Its disgusting that the "Good Ole Boys" club that is MLB owners have so much control over who can buy a team. I know MLB is a private entity, but there has to be some law, somewhere that says what they do is illegal. Its kind of ironic that what they are doing is almost the definition of collusion.

                        I think he might let him buy team with poor attendance to generate the kind of buzz that would boost attendance. But not the Cubs. The Cubs get fans without winning by the droves. They even draw on the road of which the Cubs get like a 12 or 17 % cut (I think its 12). Basically, Selig is going to allow his buddy to pay 1.X billion for the Cubs to run the team like the Tribune did.
