Well not a great debut, but still he throws some heat. Hope he gets another start, but Russ looks OK now, interesting how Russ was hurt.

Yea, I had heard about this guy on another message board. He was tearing it up in AAA, person was like add the guy to your fantasy team he'll be starting sunday. I went and added the guy, but I was busy today and didnt get time to take him off the bench.

But ya, he has some major heat, rough debut but i've seen worse. He'll be solid in a few years

I didn't see him throw in the 96-98 range after the first inning. I don't know if he just took something off of his fastball, or he can only throw that fast early or what.

OH he can throw it that fast the whole game, I think he was just off or the gun was off.

I saw a bit of the game. The kid has a great fastball and all but he's going to need some kind of offspeed or breaking pitch if he wants to be truly successful in the big leagues.

His curveball looked like it was a plus pitch for him, he just had trouble controlling it.

He has trouble with his command but when he's on he has a good a curveball to go along with his fastball.

I agree with the previous posters. If he can control that breaking pitch he was throwing last night, he'll be a good one. I'd like to compare it to Rich Hill in the sense that it took Hill two different stints at the MLB level before he fully gained control of his curve and just look at what he's doing right now.

                    Tim doesn't ice his shoulders.

Seattle Times Article - Dated 04/26/2006

Some scouts worry that Lincecum's size and the speed at which he throws make his arm more likely to break down. One said last week that Lincecum goes against everything scouts are taught to look for.

Tim and his father don't agree. Tim works on the small muscles in his body — wrists, elbow, shoulder, lower back, groin, knees and ankles. He stretches like a gymnast for flexibility and doesn't ice unless he's injured.

"I haven't really had any arm problems because of the work we do," Lincecum says. "So I'm not really worried about developing any."

                      Daisuke doesn't ice, either.

Most Japanese pitchers don't ice. They also throw on the side much, much more than pitchers from the US.

good thing I was drunk after graduating and failed to update my fantasy baseball lineup. Oh well, I didn't burn a my high waiver position on him or anything, so it's no big deal.

However, I'd hold onto him, since I doubt the giants expected him to just mow down the phillies lineup in his first MLB start. Unless they create a new AAAA level of minor league, there's nowhere else to improve for major league talent.

I think this dude's arm is going to fall off within 24 months, but I'm hoping they ride his golden arm in 2007 so it will help my fantasy team. I'm a pretty selfish person I guess..

Yeah, hoping his arm falls off because of his frame because he's too small to be a starting pitcher in the big leagues.

Where have i heard this one before...
