Yeah, you are referring to Chris Singleton, and actually, the Oakland A's picked him up this offseason and he is slated to be their starting CF and leadoff hitter. As an A's fan, I hope his OBP is better than it has been in the past.

I'm a Sox fan too. And I also cheered for Singleton, but he was Mr. UnClutch: striking out with men on, late inning whiffs, mediocre speed for a CF. Willie Harris plays a little Cf and wears #12. He absolutely flies, but his bat isn;t where it needs to be so Aaron Rowand will play CF (until Borchard's ready). Rowand had a great 2001, but a dismal 2002 -- he's young so there's plenty of hope.

The guy that might surprise everyone is Joe Crede. If he gets some protectin with Magglio and Konerko hitting in front of him he could have a big year. Plus, they just signed Brian Daubach to a minor league contract (he's a perennial 20HR, 70RBI guy) to PH.

Then the signings of Rick White and Flash Gordon? this could be a really good Sox team in a lackluster (save the Twins) in the AL Central.

Yeah it was Singleton but I really haven't keep up with too many teams in baseball since about 2000, mainly cause being a Cubs fan sucks.

Crede is 24 or 25. I wasn't too high on him until the second half last season.

I agree Flash might be an injury waiting to happen but I like the risk.

I have never liked Kenny Williams (GM), but if they can make a run this year, i'll take it all back.
