    Schedules in Franchise mode

Okay from what I know this is how it stands in terms of the schedules randomizing at the end of each season in franchise mode. This is a big feature for me since I get tired of playing the same teams over and over again, and would like to have a variety in the season games. Now I know it's a complicated thing to do in the game and their would be bugs in the schedule. Adding 3-4 different schedules in the game (including the 2003 season schedule.) rather than making them random would be enough to add a variety in this part of the game, and wouldn't be difficult to do IMO.

    As it stands:

    1) High Heat Baseball 2004: Yes random schedules.

    2) ASB 2004: No random schedules.

    3) WSB 2K3: Home and Away are swapped. So at least you have a variety there but still maintains the same schedule.

    4) MVP Baseball 2003: Yes. As is indicated in our interview.

    5) MLB 2004: ??

    What's your feelings on this?

This is a very big deal to me as well Peter. What is so hard/difficult for developers to implement a random schedule in franchise mode after the 1st season is completed? I just don't get it.

Wasn't it High Heat for the PC the first to implement such a thing? Don't remember what year it was. Was it 2001 or 2002?

I agree though, how difficult would it be to add a random schedule at the end of each year in franchise mode? If this is so difficult why not just add 3-4 schedules for example. So 2003 to 2006 would have a different schedule and then on 2007 it would recycle. This would at least add a variety, and the replay value would go up IMO.

I think baseball's new unbalanced schedule has screwed it up for developers. For example, you have to play each team in your division 19 times. So in the AL Central, my Indians must play the Twins, White Sox, Tigers, and Royals, 19 times each. Every season.

My beef is why High Heat and MVP have it, and ASB and WSB don't?? It should be the other way around.

All baseball games that have a franchise mode should have it. For the single player expierence, franchise mode is the meat and potatoes of any sports game IMO. Also, given the fact that none of this year's baseball games will have head to head online play(except Inside Pitch, which I won't be buying anyway) random schedules are of the utmost importance IMO.

I agree Red. Random schedules = better replay value.
