    Griffey Moving to Right Field

    http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/spring...t&lid=tab1pos1

Good article. Classy move by Griffey to move to right. Freel deserves a full time spot.

Yeah, I posted he was moving in the Reds thread... Classy move... but it's going to be weird seeing him at RF.

Very classy on Junior's part... good to see Freel getting his time to shine.

Won't it be weird just to see him on the field?

Moving to RF will probably add a few years to Griffey's career as he won't have as much ground to cover and won't be diving all over the place as much trying to catch the ball. I would love to see Griffey have a resurgence this year, maybe put up MVP type numbers like Frank Thomas did in Oakland last year. Hopefully moving to RF is a step towards that.

If he ever goes back to the AL and becomes a full time DH Griffey JR. could be a major star again IMO. On the same level as Big Papi and Hafner.

Eh. It is possible that he could move to DH, but no way he is going to hit ever at the Big Papi and Hafner level.

As for Freel moving to full-time center, I don't know if I like that. What makes Freel so good is his versatility. Plus, he plays so hard and balls out, he needs days off, and thats why he fits so well as a utility player. Plus, he himself has had problems with injury.

The guy can play all OF positions, 2B, and 3B. Plus, on days he doesn't start, he can be used as a pinch runner.

Have him play 135-140 games, and he will hit .275, steal 35 bases, and make your team so much better by getting players rest.

Griffey's one of the classiest athletes in all of sports, IMO.

Probably my favorite baseball player, I loved watching him when I was younger.

I wish more athletes were like this. It makes it much more enjoyable to root for them.

The lineup today was Freel, Dunn, Phillips, Griffey, Encarnacion. I like the lefty-righty alternating there. Is Dunn really going to be hitting 2nd this year? That's a lot of K's at the top of the order. On the other hand he sees a lot of pitches and that will give Freel all the chances in the world to steal 50 bases this year.

Got a base hit in his first swing.

Scott Hatteberg will likely bat second. If they keep with lefty-righty lineup then Dunn may wind up hitting 6th.

The way i see it the Reds lineup should be:
                          CF Ryan Freel
                          1B Scott Hatteberg
                          RF Ken Griffey Jr.
                          3B Edwin Encarnacion
                          LF Adam Dunn
                          2B Brandon Phillips
                          C David Ross
                          SS Alex Gonzalez

not surprised that Griffey moved to RF. Its closer to the medical facilities.

Griff will be hurnt by May and Josh Hamilton will be the everyday RF. Or Freel will get hurnt trying to play everday and Hamilton will play CF. Freel has never been able to stay healty once he has been giving a chance to be an everyday player.
