    Re: HGH = Steroids?

HGH is completely different than anabolic steroids. HGH will not put mass on you at any significant rate. It can assist you in leaning out, that's about it. Used with other compounds, HGH can be effective, but it has to be taken for 12 months to truly start to see the benefits. That type of long term dosing is not something anyone is baseball is most likely doing.

On the other hand, HGH + steroid use can be quite beneficial to athletes, so you have to look at that angle... are these athlete also using OTHER substances? If not, HGH use will do little for the elite athlete.

This steroid thing is out of control. Elite athletes in almost every sport are juicing and have been for quite some time. It's fact.... you think Canseco, Caminiti, and all the otheres are wrong? It's probably lower these days with the lockdown, but the 50-75% numbers probably weren't far off. That's just baseball too. Football, cycling, etc, could potentially be higher.

Some day HGH will be thought of as a wonder drug. Saving lives, healing injuries quicker, ect. So far it has gotten a bad rap for 1. its illegal so its cheating 2. Its not 100% understood.

Eldoro, maybe but there is a reason our bodies stop producing hormones. The problem with HGH is it makes all your cells reproduce at levels of youth. So things like hair, nails, muscle tissue, tissue damage are created at a faster rate. Problem is so do cancer cells.

Hey if your a millionaire and you can afford the medical cost associated with various cancers then fine. But people who cant afford to pay medical bills are going to be screwed down the line.

That was a great article. I only recently figured out that HGH and Steroids are very different. The average fan (like me) just assumes that HGH is a super steroid that is a real problem since they can't effectively test for it. Few realize its a natural substance in our body already and that it doesn't really add strength and needs to be used with steroids to benefit.

            That's media sensationalism for you.

Steroids are also not the death sentence the media makes them out to be either. I'm not going to get into it, but I know many MANY guys that have juiced RESPONSIBLY for 10-30+ years. Guys in their 60s and 70s that are healthier than they ever have been. The key is responsible use, blood work, and proper cycling. The real problem with juice is that it's cheating... it gives people an unfair advantage over their competitors.

                Re: HGH = Steroids?

From what I understand the main difference between HGH and steroids is that steroids actually make your organs bigger without adding extra muscle fibers while HGH grows the extra muscle fibers, theoretically making it more safe.

Some doctors feel it's the fountain of youth but I certainly will never touch the stuff. There is no way anyone can know what the long term effects of it are. Everything goes through that period of question, there was a day when cigarettes, booze and steroids weren't bad for you. We'll see where HGH goes in the future.

I have never touched any of that stuff either. I totally understand working out to look and feel better about yourself. But to go to extremes where you are willing to risk your own health for no good reason doesn't make much sense to me.

That's the sad part too, outside of professional athletes who are using the stuff so they can get $80m contracts, it baffles me that every day people want to take stuff like this. It's sad that our culture is that superficial. I work out all the time and I certainly would like to be a bigger and more cut, but I'm not going to risk cutting 30-40 years off my life so I can make some girls' heads turn at the beach in the summer.
