Those of you that have the Dish Network, might still get EI.

They made a great offer to MLB.

Carl Vogel testified today at Kerry's hearing and states that Dish
will match Directv's offer, if Dish is given a pro rata
ownership in the MLB Channel. I assume Directv is getting ownership
as well. Pro rata must mean based on the number of MLB EI subs.
Vogel says that MLB told Dish that MLB cannot do that without
getting Directv to agree to it. An equity stake in the MLB channel
seems to be the stumbling block.

Vogel said that Dish is willing to launch the MLB channel to over
10 million of its subs. Vogel also said that Dish has over 55,000 MLB EI subs.

This is good news for Dish subs who are baseball fans. I am very
impressed. Dish seems to be serious about keeping MLB EI.

In Demand made a very similar offer, but was rejected.

The VIP 622? I love the sucker. I also like how CSTV, GolTV, and Fox Soccer sin't in a special sports pack like DirectV.

I agree. My parents set up is sweet. If they land a share of EI I am switching. I could care less about the NFL package anymore. Dish seems to be a better value.

pretty sure that's the one. I love the fact that I can watch something else while it recording or you can record two shows at the same time. I've got a two tv set up instead of doing the picture in picture option. Gives me a tv to watch while I'm playing on the XBOX 360. I have to get the sports pack though cause that's the only way I see my Cardinals play.

MLB says no to Dish also.

I am glad that I have DirecTV.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

These deals make me really upset with MLB. I'll listen to the games on XM this year, I've ordered the Extra Innings package for 5 years now, and now I'm not able to.

I am sorry to hear this brother. These deals drive me nuts as well. I have DirecTv but I will not be buying the EI package. I refuse to give them my money when they choose to screw so many sports fans that can't get a dish. I have the Tigers and will get my Reds fix through XM as well.

I love the NFL but I refuse to buy the Sunday Ticket any longer. I will watch the Lions and whatever games I get through regular channels. It's not a huge protest, but I feel good about it.

Im pissed as well... Had direct tv for years (with EI and Sunday ticket), moved to a new house which we plan to be at forever hopefully, and now cant get direct tv, line of trees behind our property(high school behind us) blocks the horizon I guess. Had hoped we could still get it on comcast till all this crap popped up.

I read that ol' Bud said only around 5000subs that got EI on cable cant get dtv... I would love to tell him im one of your Dtv subs that your counting on and now cant get it. Bastards.
