He's had three shots and blown all of them.

Gardner showed today that he should be closer, at least until Tankersley comes back.

he has had 2 shots at a save.. last night wasnt a save situation..

but beinfest brought him with the intention of being the closer, and based on what he said today during the broadcast, they have no intention of benching him just yet.

i agree with you that i've seen enough, but the fact that we gave up a pretty good pitching prospect for him means the team will give him a few more shots to get a save.


as for gardner he did well today, but I'd rather see Owens out there.. although he is doing a great job pitching the 8th inning.

on a side note, when I was at the game yesterday i saw 3 or 4 signs that called for Owens for closer.

Julio can't be no worse than Brad Lidge. Unfortunately, Lidge used to be a good closer but never got over the Albert Pujols homer in the 2005 playoffs.
