Suggestions for trip to Yankee stadium

I'm headed to a game there this summer and just trying to get an idea of what seats are good/which to avoid. I learned the hard way last year that Grandstand is bad at Fenway (sorry Andrew, I should've listened!) so this year I'll listen about Yankee Stadium.

Of course the game is sold out so I'm gonna have to buy on Ebay or somewhere else. Any suggestions for where to sit while keeping price around $200 total for 2 tickets? I don't mind not being on the first level but would prefer to not have nosebleeds either.

Also, if anyone has good suggestions for where to buy Yanks/Red Sox tickets (also gonna hit a Red Sox game while up there) let me know. There's not a lot on Ebay right now so I might have to try some brokers.

Bleachers are fun... hot as hell... but the bleacher creatures are hilarious.

I wouldn't sit in the left field bleachers, right field is good though. And I wouldn't sit in the upper deck in fair territory because it hangs over the field so you if you are sitting in left field, and a ball is hit to the left field wall underneath you, you can't see it.

But for $100 for ticket you don't have to worry about that, anything you get for around that price should be good.

Well, normally I would say $100 is going to get you great seats, but you're going to a Red Sox/Yankee game that is sold out. Could be tough to get great seats. You might have to settle with ok to good seats.

But, take NYJets advice strongly. Do not get upper deck seats in fair territory. You'll never get to see Bobby Abreu make that catch against the wall.

(I actually had seats there when the Yankees played the Mets in Game 1 of the 2000 World Series and there was a shot that went over O'Neill's head and I swear, everyone in that section just froze. We had no idea what was going on. Was it gone? Did O'Neill catch it? No clue.)

I'd say that any seat in the lower section is going to be good, even if you don't get seats extremely close to the dugouts.

Tier reserve behind home plate is a good cheap spot if you dont mind having the corners cut off like everyone said. Most games me and my buddies will move down to lower tier box MVP, even a day with 50,000+ thats easy to0 do, but if its Yanks-SOx thats pretty much impossible.(I've tried and its embarassing being told to get up by someone) Best value in my opinion is Tier Box down the lines somewhere, because for some reason they jacked up Tier Box MVP (Tier box but the first like 10 sections around homeplate) like $20 this year.

I've never sat in the bleachers so I can't comment on that but those are my two reccomendations.

The right field bleachers are a riot, even though you can hardly see crap from there. Best thing about it is when you leave, you're right near the train station. I was sitting there for that playoff game against the Mariners, where Leyritz hit that game winning HR. This broad kept flashing everyone between innings. Funny thing, I left the gameahead of time, since I had to be to work early, and I figured it was gonna take me about an hour to get back to Brooklyn on the train that late at night. I was standing on the platform when he hit the homer, and I felt the platform shake. All my friends told me I was an idiot for leaving, but I was like, "I'm a Met fan, what do I care about the Yanks winning a playoff game?"

Re: Suggestions for trip to Yankee stadium

Sorry if I was confusing but I'm going to a game at Yankee stadium (not against the Red Sox) and a Red Sox game at Fenway (not against the Yankees).

I probably should've mentioned I've sat in bleachers at my fair share of games at Wrigley and I really don't care for bleacher seats to begin with so I'm mainly looking at everything outside of bleachers and I guess not UD since I'll lose some of the view.

                Here's a few sections I'm looking at...these ok? 443/451, 13, 15, 17, 257, 265, 267, 275.

BTW, Yankee stadium has the weirdest section numbers/layout I've ever seen (and I've been to about a dozen different stadiums).

I did this exact same trip last year with a buddy of mine.

We flew to Boston, went to a weekend series against the Phillies and then took an Amtrak Train from Boston to New York. Then saw a Monday through Wednesday series against the Braves.

The entire trip cost me about $850 to $900. We got our tickets off Ebay. Can't remember exactly what we paid for each though.

I had an absolute blast. You'll definitely have fun.

Re: Suggestions for trip to Yankee stadium

I've been to Yankee Stadium a million times (I live in Queens, NY) and I would say without a doubt that the best place to sit is either the right-field bleachers or near the pole in left or right field.

The right-field bleachers are amazing, with the taunts and roots and cheers, it's great. In the first inning of every game, the creatures chant the name of every Yankee on the field until that player tips their cap to them, it's great. And they have other chant as well, such as to the fans sitting in the Upper Deck right next to them, "You paid $20, we paid $6, we are cool and you are ****s." It's hilarious!

As for the left-field line, you have a great shot at the entire field and a chance at catching a home run. Same in right field and you're right on top of the field. AVOID the left-field bleachers.

Only place I've ever been that taunted their own fans, LOL... That Seattle playoff game I was at, there was a chant for the right field loge level.... Everyone in the bleachers was pointing at them and chanting, "Loge level sucks!!! Loge level sucks!!!" Funny stuff.

Im a big big mets fan, but my gf is a yankee fan so i go to my fair share of yanks games (even though we see the mets more haha) and the seats i enjoy are on the 3rd base side, middle section (mezzanine i think) between 3rd base and the foul pole. can see everything.
