So is it possible that ARod took steroids?

A friend of mine (we both live in New York) said that he went to the Yankee game the other day and had very good seats and got an up-close look at ARod. According to him, ARod is MUCH bigger than last year, upper and lower body. I told him to STFU and just accept the fact that ARod is a *** **** beast and that all NY'ers shouldn't simply hate on him for not producing in October. I am a die-hard Yankee fan and LOVE ARod, always root for him, even in October and if the Yanks do trade him, it would be a terrible mistake.

But with that said, is it possible that ARod perhaps got upset in the offseason due to this postseason struggles and decided to go Barry Bonds and roid himself up in an attempt to win back the hearts of New Yorkers?

I've seen ARod play a few times this season and honestly, he looks no bigger to me than he did last year. His body looks very similar and his head (hi Barry) is no bigger than it was (a common symptom of steroid use is an enlarged cranium).

Anyone think it's possible?

Another little tidbit - according to reports, ARod LOST 12 pounds in the offseason.

Who knows he does look more solid, but his head looks the same to me. Now Albert P. looks like a different guy. I saw he hit the weight hard this off season and he looks so much like Bonds. Even his head looks bigger. Read the Muscle and Fitness magazine, it show his work schedule and pics of him and he is huge!! Still he probably put it on the right way.

Your friend is out of his mind, A-Rod lost about 10 lbs and that's one of the reasons he's doing so well. Last year, and even 2005 sometimes he struggled to catch up to the high inside fastball this year he hasn't.

It's possible that anyone is on steroids but there's no reason to think Arod is.

Wow. So now that he is doing good, he is on steroids? If he was slumping everything would be fine for Yankee fans. It seems you guys don't want him to succeed, for some odd reason.

He's at least a good 10 lbs less. Ken Rosenthal thought it was because Boras wanted to market him as a SS for the offseasion but I think he wanted to be able to the the bat around when they jam him inside.

YES has talked alot about how A-Rod is lighter and therefore quicker with his swing.

Steroids wouldn't help with the "issues" he's had during his career in New York anyway. He was always crushing the ball when he made contact, he just wasn't doing it as often as he should or in clutch situations. I mean he only had FIVE 9th inning RBI last season - that's insane. He surpassed that in the first three weeks of the season this year.

ARod has lost 15-20 pounds combined of muscle and weight according to ESPN and Larry Bowa.Larry Bowa said that AROD was to muscular to be a baseball player which also resulted in ARod being off balance at the plate because he couldn't manage his body weight.

No way. I hate the Yankees and am not a big fan of his contract, but that guy is a beast. I don't think he took 'roids in the offseason or any other season in his career. He's a great baseball player. I wish the Reds had him.

Wow that is lot, most kids that I knew that bench that much took steroid. My friend who could bench over 300 in 8th grade took steroids. He never grew any taller but he is ripped! He now benches over 500!

After seeing the pics in that muscle and fitness magazine he is taking something. But I am sure it is legal. I couldn't imagine him taking something illegal.
