    Pitch Repertoires

Does anyone know of a site that details each pitcher's pitch repertoire?

I've been search for one and can't find anything. I'm surprised some of the big sport sites don't have this listed under a players profile. If they do, I'm missing it.

    Thanks!

The best I've been able to find on free sites is http://tsn.ca/, but they don't have the scouting reports for some of the younger pitchers in the league. They mainly have most of the veterans on the teams, but they are still missing quite a few players.

I do have Sporting News baseball annual, and they do have the repertoires for all the teams starters and a couple of their relievers. That's been the most accurate thing I've been able to find regarding a pitcher's repertoire.

The Neyer/James Big Book of Pitchers has repertoires for nearly every pitcher with considerable innings since the World Wars. It's a few years old though and wouldn't have the younger guys listed.

        Thanks guys.

My main reason for asking is I've been reading conflicting reports the last few days on one of the Pirate pitchers and was trying to find his pitch repertoire. Everything I've seen shows Paul Maholm throws a fastball, change, slider and curve. However, the local paper around here always states he throws a sinker. This seems to happen a lot and I was looking for some good scouting info to clarify it.

Some fast balls act like a sinker. Matt Cain fast ball sinks. I don't know if they credit him with a sinker, but his fastball move down a lot.

A 2 seamer can produce sinking action, but not a 4 seamer. I'm thinking Maholm throws a 2 seamer and calls it a sinker, but I'd love to see a somewhat detailed scouting report.

Yeah, I remember when I wanted to see what a guy threw and I could not find any sight that had that can of info.

                Re: Pitch Repertoires

I dont find pitch classification to be anything meaningful. So many people call different pitches different things because they can be interpreted in different ways.

For instance, Wang throws his sinker a decent majority of the time. On ESPN, Jon Miller often times calls it a forkball, while on Fox Joe Buck calls it a sinking 2-seamer.

Thats just mmy opinion, but to answer mjb I've never seen a site that did a good job at tracking different pitches.
