Franchise Question: How many games Simulated?
All these baseball games are putting out deep franchise modes, but baseball really isn't conducive to franchise modes since it takes 162 games to play a whole season. Now I have bought a baseball game every year for the last 10 years and I have never even completed a whole season, let alone play multiple ones. So this year, I am planning to sim some games so I can actually experience the franchise mode.
Just wondering, how many games a season do you guys usually sim? Just looking to get a bunch of opinions on this. Thanks.Tags: None -
Re: Franchise Question: How many games Simulated?
The only baseball game i've ever finished a season in was on Ken Griffey baseball on the SNES. Hm, but yes I plan to play all 2 game series, 1 out of 3 game series, and play 2 games in 4 game series. Of course i'll play the entire playoffs if the team makes it that far.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Franchise Question: How many games Simulated?
I hear you guys...it takes a long time to play a season. You have to simulate tons of games...I love baseball, love it to death...but geez even I would get bored out of my mind if I had to play 400 games..lol. I think by simulating lots of games in a season, you really get a feel for what kind of team you put together GM wise. Anyone can get good a game and compensate for a bad roster...but if you play say 1 game to every 3 simulated, then it forces you to make your team better in the offseason. I'm gonna try to play at least 10 seasons this year. Whats yalls game?? I'm getting ASB...I love that game, it has too many options that the games don't. For example..it has salary arbitration, rule 5 drafts...I've never seen a game with that...it also has compensatory drafts for when you sign free agents...no game has things like that. Great year for us baseball fans!Comment

Thats funny that you mentioned KG on SNES because that was the closest I ever got to playing a whole season. I was like 100 games into when I decided to start over with another team.
I like your gameplan for simming... The way I figure it, you'll wind up playing about 55-60 games that way, which is doable. That way, I might just play through 2-3 seasons before I get bored and move onto football.Comment

I, like so many other people, set out to play every game with the best intentions, and then somewhere between games 70 and 85, you get burned out. This may also help those individuals who are unhappy with the stats you get from playing all the games. Your mix should ensure the stats are more realistic.Outstanding!!!
