Will ARod be a Yankee next year?

    http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2865760

According to ESPN, he may opt out of his contract at the end of this season in order to sign another long-term $200 million deal, which, they claim, won't be with the Yankees.

However, according to ARod, he wants to "stay with the Yankees (and) win Mr. Steinbrenner a world championship."

As a die-hard Yankee fan, it would be a sad day to see ARod opt out and salute NY farewell. I honestly am sick and tired of the New York jackasses insulting him and running him out of town. The guy had a bad year last with with 35 homers and 121 RBI's. If that's a bad year, people need to just STFU and realize what they have is arguably the most talented baseball player to ever play the game.

Another ESPN article about Arod's future, shocking. They have to be getting close to a record here.

If it is about the money at the end of the day he will be a Yankee. But I don't think, for the reasons you said, anyone could blame him for getting out of New York (which would eliminate the Mets as well).

        I think he will.

If he does opt out I think the only team that will have interest in him at that price range would either be Boston or maybe the two LA teams. The guy is a great talent but I don't think the guy will be able to get 200 million plus again unless it's with the BoSox. I think the mets would be in a position to give it to him but they have no room for him. I think the Yankees are the most logical choice.

That is unless he is willing to take a pay cut and come play for his former manager in the windy city.

I think eventually the Yankees will end up extending his contract, and he won't opt out.

I know the Yankees said they won't do that, but I think eventually they will, because A-Rod is going to be able to get more money anyway, andif the Yankees extend his contract the Rangers will still be paying some of the money. If he opts out, they'd have to pay the whole thing.

And the only way I see A-Rod leaving no matter what is if he has a misreable stretch run and post season again and the fans are killing him. I don't see him turning down more money because of how the fans and media treated him last year.

I think it's a no-brainer. I'll reup on a guarantee I made a few months ago when people actually believed Kevin Durant was going to come back to Texas for his sophomore season.

If A-Rod is not on the Yankees in 2008, I will not post on OS for two months. The mods can ban me for 62 days to make it official.
