Re: Jason Giambi says MLB should apologize for steroids
america is a forgiving place, so Giambi will be fine... but I don't need an apology, I'd just like an even tougher testing regimen by MLB would be fine by me.http://flotn.blogspot.com

Re: Jason Giambi says MLB should apologize for steroids
See Giambi doesn't say it but he has a valid point. if MLB had come out and apologized near the beginning of the whole steroid scandal then the vast majority of people would just sweep it under the rug. Oh MLB would have to make stringent policies against it but it wouldn't have been a huge firestorm. The vast majority of people complaining about the steroid era would be muffled out. The only thing they could legitimately complain about would be Bonds.

Giambi: I think I can already do the last one. Probably the strength of 100 men.
You're about the first one to say that. Almost everyone else picks invisible.

Re: Jason Giambi says MLB should apologize for steroids
In a way, I think Giambi is still trying to save face by saying this because I know some people still think he's just a dirty cheater. But, I sort of agree with him and SPTO and on this one. If the MLB would have come out and said "you got us. we f'd up." it would have been a lot better than this whole congressional crap that went on. I know I have a lot more respect for a guy like Giambi, who admitted what he did, than a guy like McGwire.Comment

Re: Jason Giambi says MLB should apologize for steroids
In my experience, humans are generally forgiving. Thus, I don't really hold a grudge against Giambi. It's known that there are steroid users in baseball, and thus I respect those that admit to using more than I do those that run in circles in regards to whether they did use or not.
Ultimately, I hold MLB accountable. Test often, reveal the results, and punish harshly. In the past their methods have encouraged obscurity, with the ultimate result being the steroids fiasco we've had the last few years. To me, it seems they love the shades of grey and obscurity that prevent the players from being definitively labeled and ousted, and while I'm sure the Players Union is also comfortable with this situation, it genuinely hurts the fans, because it's nearly impossible to distinguish who is using steroids and who is a legitimate player.
Confessions should not be the means by which steroids users are exposed. Instead, tests should be performed often, and their results made publicly available in a time frame that will appease fans, both by being timely and also by punishing offenders to an extent that is likely to make others think twice about using steroids themselves.Enjoy football? So why Bonds, becasue he is breaking a record, or you just hate him? I think MLB and the Players Union is the one to really blame. The players should be blame too, but if Baseball had a stricter testing none of this stuff would have happen. They have to take just as much repondsibilty as Bonds does and maybe even more!Comment

A little of both. Let's face it, Bonds makes it easy to hate him. He made his bed and will have to live with the consequences for the rest of his life.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Agree, so let me get this straight, let's say Bonds was the nicest guy ever and all of baseball love him, would he be getting the same treatment?Comment

Re: Jason Giambi says MLB should apologize for steroids
Bonds is a villian because he made himself that way.
Giambi is just an idiot who almost killed himself taking whatever it was that he took. If not for that he would probably still be juicing.Comment
