I'm sure the Cubs have called. Angel Guzman is their closer now and last week, he was their 5 starter.

I always liked Percival, but I wonder how a 37 year old will holdup after not pitching for so long. Plus a guy who mainly relied on his heat to get batters out. I think Percival was a 2 pitch pitcher (heat/curve).

Phillies are actually one of the teams interested in him

I'd think so too because The Phillies need to get Myers back into the starting rotation. I mean he is a solid SP & I was totally shocked to see him moved to the bullpen in the first place regardless of the relief problems. Thanks!

Something tells me that isn't why he played baseball in the first place or driving desire to come back.

                      From RotoWorld:

                      <table class="s_playerNewsTable" id="Table1" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td>
</td> <td class="s_playerNewsLeftBorder"></td> <td class="s_playerNewsText">According to one scout who watched Troy Percival workout for five teams Wednesday, he threw between 87-90 miles per hour.

"Percival looked healthy, but it's still un clear what he'd do in a game situation," the scout said. "He had no pain, his body looked about the same as it did when he played. I don't know if he can hit 95 mph anymore. He threw some good curveballs and change-ups. He was better than expected. He seemed close to being game-ready."
                      </td></tr></tbody></table>

Indians are one of the teams looking at him!

I wish the Tigers would pursue him, but since they've got the fat beer guzzling slob as their closer, I doubt Percival would consider Detroit.

even a 100% Percival couldn't turn that team around. Maybe they should call up Rick Ankiel as well, I know he's got like 15 HRs and 55 RBI. Couldn't hurt, could it?
