    Indians closer

If I was (were...? ...I'm french-canadian, give me a break) the Cleveland Indians , I would go after Eric Gagné if he stays healthy by the all-star break.

He's as dominating as he was with the Dodgers.

    his health is a concern...but he's only got a 1 year contract ...

Basically, the Indians would need him for the second half of the season, and the playoffs...

eh, Joe is actually doing good when he's called to close... it's just two games have blown up his ERA.... without his two horrible games, one which wasn't even a save opportunity, his ERA is mid 2's.... Plus he either leads the league or is tied for the lead in saves... But we made a run at Gagne before the year so you never know what can happen.

I don't think the Rangers can trade him yet. I know there's a rule that states you have to wait a certain amount of time until you can trade a player you signed.

Peter Gammons seems to think that Gagné mght be dealt to the Indians too.
(He talked about it during the Yankees-Red sox game on sunday).

I believe its May 1st that a team has to wait to trade a player it signed as a free agent in the offseason, so that deadline has passed.

I think the Detroit Tigers will end up with Gagne, because they have the young pitching prospects that the Rangers want in return
