    WARP3's:

    B.J Upton - 7.3
    Placido Polanco - 7.0
    Brian Roberts - 7.0

So according to WARP which does take into account fielding, Upton does enough at the plate to offset his defense. That said it's very close between the 3 and could be a toss up.

        Are you kidding?

And as I saw brought up earlier, Youkilis is 6th overall in VORP at 27.4. Morneau checks in at 20.0 (37th), also behind Teixeira (17th overall).

Bonds trails only Reyes and Ramirez in NL VORP.

And this is why all-star voting ends up the way it does.

Who does Bonds have to knock in? The great hitters like Randy Winn and Omar Vizquel?

Polanco is having a better season than any of them, IMO. He has the most RBI, the best batting average, and has yet to commit an error.

Also, Jim Leyland is the A.L. Manager, so that will definately give Polanco the not over both Upton and Roberts, unless one of them wins the vote, which, unfortunately Robinson Cano will likely win.

So, count on Polanco being the backup to Cano

Bonds is leading the NL in OBP and OPS. What is your case again?

Wow, an Oriole gets love from a non-Orioles fan. I never thought I'd see the day.

Why are you so obsessed with the Orioles getting love?

Maybe they would get some if they fielded a decent team once in awhile.

Polanco has overtaken Cano at 2B in the AL.

Maggs has moved up to 4th in the OF for the AL...but still 113,000 behind 3rd.

Looks like we got a huge movement in the NL to push Russell Martin past Lo Duca for catcher, which is great news. The same thing needs to happen to push Cabrera past the Mets homer/ignorant voting army, as well as to get Matt Holliday into the top three and Prince Fielder past Pujols.

Although the most obvious injustice in all of the voting so far has to be that Hanley Ramirez, #3 in NL VORP, is not even among the top five shortstops. Oh how far the homerism stretches.

Not everyone has the money to buy a team each year.
