July 24th, 1983 the Cardinals beat the Dodgers 3-0 behind a shutout by Neil Allen. What that date is better known for, though, is George Brett's pine tar home run.

I was born in March of 1988 and like the other Braves fans have pointed out, we sucked that year.

I was born in 1982, the only year the Reds have ever lost 100 games in a season. No surprise they lost 4-2 to the Phils on my B-day.

The day I was born in 1978 the Braves lost 11-10 to St Louis. The Braves were 56-71 at that point in the season, 6th place in the division, 19½ GB in the NL Western Division, but was still coached by Bobby Cox. Gene Garber was the losing pitcher for the Braves that day. Bob Horner hit 2 homeruns in the game and had 5 RBI.

The Yanks beat the Indians 4-3 in 17 innings! Saturday June 26, 1982. Also Derek Jeter's 8th birthday.

Despite playing 17 innings, the Yanks only had 10 hits and two players with more than one hit (they both had two). David LaRoche got the win by pitching the final six innings without allowing a run.

Greg Nettles hit a two run homer. I have no idea how the winning run was scored.

The Braves beat the Expos 7-2 on Saturday July 19, 1986. Dave Palmer was the winning pitcher, the winning runs came in on a 3 run homer by Andres Thomas.

As in practically every other year in the mid-late 80s, the Braves weren't good in 86. They'd lost 6 in a row and 11 of 12 heading into the game on my birthday.

Born in December of 1982. The 82 Mariners were 76-86, but the 83 Mariners were even worse: 60-102. Wow, were they bad.

The Orioles were 11 games over .500 after losing to the Cleveland Indians.

                    7/27/72 Those were the days
                    (Being over .500 that is)

Roger Clemens threw his first career complete game on the day of my birth, June 22nd 1984. I can't remember who it was against though.
