    Re: Working scoreboards

I'm not complaining...I just confirmed that the guy isn't crazy, I saw what he saw last year. It was really very small detail...but hell, honestly, if your going to put working scoreboards in, at least line the scores up the right way...geez. How does something like that slip past the programmers?

yeah it was definitely like that in Comiskey Park. I had a season with the WSox and the right field scoredboard had numbers that looked upside down and then turned around backwards. Crazy.

It's funny that the MVP producer said that MVP and Triple Play don;t share a single line of code -- b/c those "active scoreboards" are the exact same in Triple Play as they look to be in MVP. They're generic HUGE numbers with just three categories (R)Runs (H) Hits and (E) Errors.

Somebody please tell me I'm hallucinating, b.c I'm afraid of the implications. One line of code = many lines of code.

What i mean is that so for a number like 8, this is how you see it, but in some of the parks, the number (8) would lie sideways like oo or something like that (that's supposed to be the eight). I hope you get what i mean.

I know exactly what you mean. It tends to make me think that the two games will have more in common than we are going to realize. For some reason, I could totally see Triple Play type opposite field homeruns.

As for the scoreboards, it is always a nice thing to see real time scoreboards. It won't make me buy one game over another but it was just plain cool to see accurate scoreboards (in ASB) especially in ball parks where scoreboards are either in play (Fenway Park) or a major centerpiece of the park (Wrigley Field).

I'm annoying? Do you see me complaining about the colors of the outfield grass and HRs bouncing of the stands? THAT's annoying. Sorry you feel this way, I just find it odd that complaints like "I hope the ball bounces off that ladies head when I foul it off" are present.

First he wssn't complaining, he was asking about working scoreboards. Which is a valid question. It's all about wanting more and more realism. Yes if someone was crying about seat 50 in section 12 was not right color then I would agree but this is not the case.
