Which game utilizes defensive ratings most/best?

First of all, great site, tremendously helpful in this "time of many options."

Here's the kind of realism I want--a game that allows me to build a franchise around a big park, Andruw Jones in center, and a bunch of flyball pitchers. Or an outstanding defensive SS and a staff of groundball pitchers. Which game models the value of good defensive players best? I get the sense that HH is best for this (I've played the PC versions up to '02, now looking for an xbox game), but maybe I'm fooling myself into thinking those ratings (OF range, IF range) really affect my ERAs. Love to hear from the experts here on that point. Also, how about WSB, do defensive ratings matter in that one? I'm more than happy to switch to the flashier gameplay if the sim/franchise quality is comparable.

I realize the games aren't out yet, but I'm guessing this question has more to do with overall game philosophy and less to do with year-to-year tweaking. Thanks in advance, all.

I believe from the previews that WSBB has redone the defensive importance of players to make your lineup selections that much more important(real)

        Here's the rundown for WSB:
Catching - affects chance of making an error when catching the ball
Range - affects run speed in the field
Arm Strength - how hard the ball is thrown
Arm Accuracy - how accurate throws are
Jump/Dive - how good a player is at jumping/diving for the ball. Players with high ratings can line up their gloves with the ball better; players with low ratings may have the ball bounce off their arms or something while the better ones make the catch.

Each player has an overall "familiarty" rating at each position. Primary position will always be 100 and the rest will be somewhere between 0 and 100. If it's less than 100, the player takes a hit to all the other defensive ratings when playing that position.
