Re: A-Rod,When heat is on, it seems he's not so hot

Currently, the rest of the team is playing well...when they weren't, he was the only reason they were around...NY is crazy, they simply can't appreciate what they have...

I like to look back on their first couple of WS champ teams in this era....the makeup of the team is completely different...but even Steinbrenner did not appreciate how his team got to where it was...

Brosius, O'neill, Girardi, Williams, etc...not a Giambi or ARod or Sheffield or whatever in the bunch...

I'll take ARod in Chicago, northside, that is
    Australian Rules Football...just sayin'

The New York media and (most of the) New York fans just don't realize how fortunate they are to have the best player in baseball on their team in the prime of his career. Just look at what he did in April, for instance. Has the guy had a better month in his entire career? How many walk-off home runs and game winning RBI did he have that month? It's such a damn shame.

I knew something like this was bound to come up.

Every player in the majors goes through peaks and valleys, slumps and hot streaks. Prior to this run, A-Rod really hasn't had any true slumps (power outages yes, slumps - nothing too bad) so this is his first of the season. Plus it's in combination of him sitting on 499 and it being the dog days of August.

Is it something to worry about for the playoffs? We'll see, but I don't think so.

LOL, I'd take A-Rod in Wrigley without a doubt. He's be welcome back at shortstop. However, thats not gonna happen. Even if we decided to spend that kind of coin, i'd rather it go to pitching. But what a dream left side of the infield that would be.

Wow, so A-Rod hit fly ball outs instead of homeruns in a midseason 16-3 win against the White Sox. What a choker.

Hah ARod is a choker because he's taking too long to be the YOUNGEST PLAYER TO HIT 500 HOMERS IN HISTORY! He's now on pace for only 52 home runs this year instead of 60. Bring on Wilson Betemit.

No, it'll only shut them up until the next at-bat where he doesn't get a hit.

Please... No.... It's bad enough I have to hear John Sterling every time I listen to Benigno and Roberts on WFAN... You'd think two Mets fans would have something better to do than play Sterling's nonsensical homerun calls.
