There are so many pros and cons for these games

High Heat's got the amazing realism but a still poor graphics engine and I wasn't impressed with the sound of last year's game. It also has the farm system and such but I am not too impressed by it's franchise mode.

MVP's the newcomer and has a great graphics system to go along with the whole new batting and pitching interface. However, it does not have a behind the pitcher view for has the minor leagues. Who knows about its presentation and being new it will have many flaws I'm sure.

WSB has a batting cursor which for some may be a good thing but it turns me off. It has an outstanding Franchise Mode and the TV ESPN style presentation must be awesome. The batting cursor turns me off big time unfortunately.

I am going to be honest and say I have never been a fan of the All Star Baseball series so I don't know what to expect there. Probably improvements across the board but it also has the batting cursor.

    Decisions, Decisions.

Anybody know what is the best game for 2 player baseball? I'm going to be taking this game to college to play and I am going to have some tournaments of 8 to 16 people at my house in the summer. I want a great 2 player game.

    Thanks.

High Heat would be my first choice.

        Graphics are improved
        Sound is fixed

After the "new" is worn off of the games, gameplay is most important to many

Re: There are so many pros and cons for these games

One more thing- the batting cursor issue is null and void this year. In both WSB and ASB you can manipulate the cursor almost however you want.

WSB- normal cursor based hitting or no cursor at all (timing based)

ASB- normal cursor mode (3D), 2D cursor, no cursor at all (again, timing based), or zone based hitting with no cursor (like High Heat).

My advice- If you aren't sure what to get, rent them all first and buy the one to your liking. That is what Blockbuster and Hollywood are there for. I know it has been said a million times, but what is wrong with waiting a little longer and renting first if you are unsure? Taking the advice of someone here, who probably has different tastes from you is not the same as playing it for yourself.

By the time I would be able to find them returned and rentable at my Blockbuster, it will be the start of hockey season. He is right, everyone has their own preferences, don't buy a game according to anyone's advice unless you are positive they have the same tastes as you. If you are patient, you can wait until impressions of the games are posted here by RESPECTABLE posters, not fanboy, game bashing 12 year olds.

Yeah, this year its just too hard to be sure. I would say that unless you are 100% sure of the game you want, rent all the games that you have interest in. Invest the extra 15 bones or so to make sure you get the right game for YOU.

Yeah, it would suck to spend $150 and end up not buying the game you should have. Not that I won't be doing that myself

LOL, I don't have the patience, actually. I very rarely rent first, especially with baseball games. I usually just buy them all and sell off the ones I dont play.

I said it for him because he seemed to be having a hard tme deciding which one to get. If I buy all of them, I don't have that problem, except for my bank account balance

Yes, there are definitely some people here who will give great impressions, but my point was that it is still not coming from his mind. They will be the impression of someone who has played it and viewed it with their eyes, not his. Everyone likes different things, so maybe he should just try em all out first.

I agree that renting games, especially waiting for the rental stores to get the games in, is a royal pain in the ***, hence me usually buying every one right off the bat.
