It should be exactly like the hitting system in High Heat. You have to gauge where the pitch will be located and press the corresponding location of the strike zone on the D pad, as well as pressing the swing button at the same time.

If you pick the right location, you will usually make really solid contact, because you are theoretically placing the bat on the ball where it crosses the strike zone, where as with timing based hitting, you are only required to press the swing button at the appropriate time.

hey in HH, could you decide if you wanted to throw a ball or a strike? like could you intentionally pitch it 3 inches off the plate, or intentionally put it rigjt in the corner?

Yeah, u can choose whether its a ball or strike, but your accuracy is dependent on the pitcher, and the pitch, and so on an so forth. Can you try to paint the corners, yes............Does it always work, ........................no!

Are you sure about the zone-based hitting for ASB? There's nothing on this site that indicates they will include it, and on acclaim's feature list they dont mention it either. I just dont want to get my hopes up.

Actually I don't think that you can find that information anywhere online, but in the chat, both BaseballGuru and asb_man have confirmed that there are 4 types of batting and one of them is zone batting, which is like HH's batting.
