    RFK Stadium

I'm on a mission to see as many baseball stadiums as possible. I'm going to Jersey for a business trip next week and after that I'm heading to Baltimore to catch an Orioles game. I looked up the Nationals schedule and saw they're in town too.

If the Nats weren't getting a new stadium next year I'd check it out but since they are and I haven't heard anything great about RFK I'm not sure if I want to even bother.

So, is it worth going to a game just to check the stadium out? It's an older park, isn't it? I don't know a lot about it.

Nah, save your money and time and try to catch another game in Baltimore which is just a fantastic stadium.

If you've seen any of the other concrete bowl baseball stadiums of the 70s/80s/early90s, then you've seen everything you are gonna see in RFK.

Yeah, if anything, go to another Orioles game. You won't find a better place than Camden Yards to watch a baseball game.

        Except for Pac-bell/At&T Park

Wait until next year when the new stadium opens..

Speaking of which, I was in RFK for the first time for a baseball game Saturday night (been to football games, no baseball).

Let me put it this way, even their suites aren't that nice (in comparison).

On the other hand, I've seen 50-100 Os games. Much nicer.

Not to mention Camden Yards is the only place where you can get Boog's BBQ. I wouldn't leave without trying it.

I don't know why it didn't occur to me when I first posted this but RFK was the Rangers home park when they were the Senators in Washington. Being a big Rangers fan I think it might be cool from that aspect.

As far as going to another O's game, they aren't in town the day I'd be going to the Nats game.

So, more than likely I will stop by for a game.

JJLinn: Thanks for the BBQ suggestion--I'll be sure to get something from there.

And PNC Park. I'd put PNC and AT&T Park as #1 and #1a on the best parks list. Camden is very nice as well, but personally I don't think it's better than the 2 I listed.

Speaking of BBQ, if ever at PNC Park, go behind the batters eye in CF and check out "Manny's BBQ". Former Pirate Manny Sanguillen is often back there signing autographs and talking to everyone. Great BBQ as well.

Sounds good... but doesn't that mean you have to actually go to a Pirates game and you know... see them play?

True. Although all the Pirates have to do is throw a Bobblehead night or Fireworks night and the fans come pouring in (they have 1 of these nights every weekend).

Personally, I've only been to 1 game this year and 1 last year because I refuse to give the ownership money. After 15 straight losing seasons and ownership pocketing the profits they receive, I'm fed up with their ways. Ownership isn't interested in winning, so I'm not interested in going! I went to more All Star Game events at PNC Park than I've been to Pirate games in the past 2 years. LOL... The worst part is the taxpayers paid for PNC Park. Therefore every ticket sold and every parking spot sold (avg of $10 per game) is profit for the team.
