I live 5 minutes from Boston, have all my life, and I can still go around and simply walk there to have a great time. The history is as rich as any place in the US and it jumps out at you. The culture and street performers is an awesome treat too. Even without Fenway you could spend a couple days and have a blast.

Modern Pastry is good too. As is Mike's. I recommend the lobster claw. Mmm, 9200 calories of goodness.Comment

Re: Red Sox Tickets
Ana's Taqueria - aside from my family, this is by far the biggest thing I miss about living in Boston. Here you will find the single greatest burritos and quesadillas of all time. What makes this place so great is the cheap price combined with the amazing taste. I seriously love this f'n place. It is also accessible by T from Fenway Park. There are at least 4-5 Ana's Taqueria's in the Boston area, so pick one nearest to where you are staying. If you don't go here while you visit Boston...you should be outcast from society. Seriously, there are even Facebook groups dedicates to Ana's, it is that popular.Comment

Re: Red Sox Tickets
I would go the scalper route. Just walking in between the Kenmore T stop and Fenway, you will see about 20+ people selling tix. The bleachers wouldn't be a bad place to get tix (they're not actually bleachers, they're the normal plastic seats - better than the wooden ones in the grandstands). As long as you don't mind drunk peopleMLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies
NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins
NBA: Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic
NCAA: Penn State Nittany Lions, Boston College EaglesComment

Re: Red Sox Tickets
Ok so we're planning on going to Fenway early Saturday morning to try and get standing room only tickets. How early should we get there?
And is it safe to wear a Yankee jersey in Fenway?Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

You'll get harassed, obviously, not nothing serious. As long as you can put up with the "**** yous" and the "Yankees Suck" standard stuff.Comment

Re: Red Sox Tickets
I'd imagine you'd have to get there early as hell, probably around 5-6am."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: Red Sox Tickets
Went well.
We actually didn't get there until 8, when there were about 30 people there. We easily got tickets, sat in the grandstand down the right field line for $30. With the rain delays we spent about 13 hours at Fenway on Saturday but it was well worth it. Fenway is an incredible place to watch a game, I can't wait to go back.
Edit: Oh, and the Sox fans were a lot tamer than I expected and had heard from others. I wore my Jeter jersey, and I don't think any Sox fan said anything negative to me the entire day. There was some drunk Sox fan a few rows behind us who almost got thrown out for what he was saying to some other Yankee fan, and then there was a fight a few sections over, but that was it. Just a fun place to watch a game, great environment.Last edited by NYJets; 04-13-2008, 05:58 PM.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Red Sox Tickets
My theory on this (and wearing a Sox jersey to Yankee Stadium), is just dont be a dick about it and you'll be fine. Just don't go overboard cheering for your team. I'm sure its not always the case, but it should be.Comment
