Lost respect for him? I can see that, BUT you should also lose all respect for Baseball in general the way they treat their fans and not to mention that the players don't even respect the game making a mockery records by CHEATING. And yes using performance enhancing drugs IS cheating.

I've always been a Canseco fan, even since before he pulled off the 40/40 season back in 88, I think?

While i don't agree with his off-field antics, I just remember the reasons I DID like him, his performance on the field, more specifically in the batter's box.

Always a big fan of Canseco's, thought it was complete crap that no one would take a chance on him when he was so close to 500 home runs and was still able to produce.

I could see why they wouldn't... but I still thought SOMEONE should've... you know?

I mean, finding at least a mediocre young outfield really isn't too hard to find, and to pass one of those up for an older, known for being hurt player chasing a milestone... well that makes sense... but hey, if I was a coach in the AL, i'd have scarfed him up, he'd have DH'ed or something! Or put him on 1B in interleague games if you didn't have a better guy there already.. Which is why I believe, maybe not wholeheartedly, that jose, was indeed, blackballed. The year he played for the ChiSox, he did pretty well, even for the small role they gave him.
