High Definition pack use component cables. Only difference between the HD pack and normal component cables is the HD pack has a hookup for a digital optical cable for a surround sound receiver.

        Just to clarify:

I believe there are two A/V packs for the Xbox: Advanced and High Definition. Advanced has S-Video and composite output, along with the L/R and optical audio output. High definition has Y/Pb/Pr (known as "component" video) video output and L/R and optical audio output. Make sure you get the High Definition pack if your TV supports component video. You will see a huge difference.
