    Let's talk fantasy..........

I'm so excited for fantasy baseball to start.....nothing like a live draft.....

Anyways, besides Arod, who do you think top picks will be- Randy Johnson even though he's getting really old nad is having back problems?.......Has Soriano already maxed out his potential?.......Vlad is awesome, but his team sucks- will he get traded to increase his value? Will Pedro throw enough innings to warrant a high pick?

Personally, I think Johnson will get hurt this year and I wouldn't take him that early.....I think Soriano is going to have a repeat type season but I'm not expecting much more....I think Vlad will get traded and is going to have a monster 2nd half. He has always gotten better as the season progresses so if he is traded to a contender, look out.....Pedro is awesome, and his WHIP is unbelievable, and I think he's going to have a monster year and if he's taken late in the first round or early second will be a steal......

Finally, any inside tips on drafting??

Here's mine: Barry Zito- I love him and I think he's a great pitcher, but dont' take him too early!!!! He's a 2nd half pitcher. His 1st half numbers are pretty good but not great. Don't draft him early, let someone else do it. Then, when they're disapointed with his performance, try to trade for him midseason. He's a monster in the 2nd half of the season. He has been an incredible pitcher 2nd half of the season the last 2 years, and a good/solid in the first half of the last two years...

If you don't take Zito early, he'll be gone. In fantasy BB i look at a player's numbers over an entire year. With a player like Zito you just throw him in the line-up and never take him out. At the end of the year you'll have great numbers to show for it. I think A-Rod and Vlad Guerrero are the top position players, as they affect the most statistical categories in a rotisserie-style league. Top pitchers? Randy Johnson, Barry Zito, Mark Mulder, and Roy Oswalt because they're durable, get a lot of K's and have low ERA's. Suprise players? I like Austin Kearns in Cincy, Michael Cuddyer in Minnesota, and Joe Crede in Chicago. There is nothing like fantasy baseball. I can't wait.

Hey guys, sorry to sound like a stupid nOOb here, but i've never played fantasy baseball before, but i'm actually kind of interested this year. Can you just give me some pointes (ie. most likely websites) to a good place to start and participate in a fantasy league? Thank.

SoxFan, a good site to do fantasy baseball at is Smallworld.com. It's great, especially Basic Fantasy Baseball, since it doesn't include money, except for prizes to winners.

I think Adam Dunn could have a really good year this year if he'd stop laying off of so many pitches. I know that sounds weird to say about any hitter, let alone a young one, but after watching him all last season, he just lets to many good pitches go. If Griffey is healthy, that line-up could be awsome. Also, I think Kerry Wood is gonna have his best year this year. If you pay attention to some of his comments this offseason, it really sounds like he has something to prove. Mark Prior is gonna be a stud this year too.

True, I know stats are over a year.......but unless they're a zito fan, my bet is they will be dissapointed with his performance if they take him in the first 3 rounds.....I think you can get him for a good deal midseason. Thats what I did last year, and the year before that i picked him up as a free agent.....

I need some Fantasy Baseball expertise...

What four playerss would you keep out of the following? Keep in mind... 2 position players, at least 1 pitcher and the other one can be either a position or a pitcher.

                            A. Rodriguez (a no-brainer), Berkman, Green, Chipper Jones
                            T. Hudson, F. Garcia, Prior, W Miller, Gagne

Right now, I'm considering A-Rod, Berkman, Hudson and Prior... but I'll listen to any other combinations of players.

                            Thanks.
