    A few good points

First I would like to thank OS for their movie streams for the up-incoming baseball titles. I would also like to pose a few questions? I saw MVP(formally Triple Play) and thought they did a superb job from a graphics/animations standpoint. If Triple Play was "so horrible" that EA scraped the title to start over, why are the player's and graphics/animations better? I am new to the HH franchise, and I have a game on hold for my Xbox. I despise Sega games because they have not offered a 2 player career/franchise since they started making sports games. All Star looks arcade like so I'm staying away from that. But I read a great deal of "good press" on HH2004 that I decided to go with it instead of MVP. I thought that since MVP had to start over they make take a year or two to iron out the bugs. I feel it was the below average team that worked on Triple Play to cause it's demise. What I didn't like about Triple Play was the vast number of homer's the players hit. That's not real. HH promises a true to life baseball sim. So that's why I orderd one. But, if HH has been working on it's graphics for 3 years and MVP started their game over from scratch, why are MVP's graphics better than HH's?

    Re: A few good points

    3DO prides themselves on making a solid sim...graphics came 2nd or 3rd or 4th.

EASports wants to sell their games to people from 8-88...Graphics are a huge push.

    Where is the balance...gameplay.

That being the case...you might want to give all the contenders a look this year. HH, MVP, WSB, and ASB...it's gonna be a good race!!

        Re: A few good points

3DO could spend 2 years working solely on the graphics and animations and they still wouldn't be able to make the game look as good as EA would in 9-12 months.

The reason? Resources. 3DO simply does not have the money or the personnel to be able to compete with the EA juggernaut in terms of graphic design.

Don't think for a second that 3DO would rather spend their time and resources making the best sim possible. HH does play a great fundamental game of baseball, and has for years, so contrary to what Clay said, I believe they actually did spend most of their time on graphics and animations this year. The gameplay engine has been in place for years, so they probably didn't need to spend all that much time on that aspect this time around.

They would make the graphics on par with the WSB's and MVP's of this world if they could. They are well aware that the graphics are the biggest thing holding them back from selling around the same number of games as EA and Sega. Sure, 3DO knows that they have a really strong hardcore following, but for most people that buy video games, graphics are the main selling point, unfortunately.
