    Re: Trading Minor Leaguers

It depends on if they signed a major league contract and became part of the union I would guess. Membership to the MLBPA seems to be the key. I don't think Sean Burroughs made it in last year, he hadn't signed his major league contract yet. If they made a plate appearance or were on the roster of the big club they would have signed a big league contract. Although I don't know exactly how that works for the September 40 man call up period.

WSB came out in May last year, so by the time we were out, Burroughs, Blalock, Hinske, Ishii, Ensberg, and one other guy had joined the union. So we got rights to them before we released. Not the case this year, except for Matsui, whose agent was kind enough to let us use him in the game.

I was wondering about prospects who played a limited number of major league games and were not considered rookies for that reason, if those guys would make the cut for this year's video game rosters... a few guys come to mind... Padres pitchers Dennis Tankersley, Ben Howard and any other MLB prospects that might have made their debut last year.

Yeah, anyone who had time in the majors last year should be in the game, aside from scabs and some retired players.

I'm guessing almost all the Padres minor leaguers will appear in ASB.

has it been confirmed that in ASB you can trade minor leaguers because I know last year they had to be called-up first. Also can (ASB) minor leaguers be accesed/traded using the defult rosters/mode (non-franchise)? I doubt it but just checking. This would help alot with roster accuracy.

Thats probably true, considering they almost all played in the ML at some point last year.
